About me, Linda Douglass

Qualifications and Experience

B Ed (Hons), QTS (Qualified Teacher Status), Fully Enhanced CRB checked, Member of The General Teaching Council

Gaining a Bachelor of Education with honours at Manchester University over 15 years ago, has given me the firm foundations and solid preparation I needed for educating primary school children. I also gained QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) at this time which qualified me to teach children from 5 to 11 years old.

Throughout the four year degree and teaching practices in schools around the North West, I was constantly encouraged to reflect on my teaching and think deeply about the way children learn and are motivated. This has stayed with me throughout my 15 year career whilst teaching classes of all age groups from Reception to Year 6. I have always believed that children learn best when they are happy, confident and enjoying themselves whilst being given the appropriate level of challenge to help them reach their full potential. I am also very aware that children learn in different ways and this needs to be taken into account when providing educational experiences.

I also used my qualifications, experience and skills during my time as an Assistant Headteacher, Foundation Stage Leader, School Child Protection Officer, lead person for behaviour and mentor to newly qualified teachers and teaching students. Further leadership training enabled me to share my experience and 'ideals' with others, encouraging other members of staff to become reflective practitioners in the education of primary school children.

Being a Mum of three boys, Aunty to several nieces and nephews and having a Great Niece has also given me a wealth of experience of children's needs and an opportunity for me to delight in the fun that young children and their rapid development brings!

Allstars Tuition has been created as a new challenge and I am very pleased that I am able to use my qualifications, skills and experience to further enhance and extend the learning that goes on during school time.
