Allstars Private Pre-School with Linda & Nikki. Quality Early Years Education for Children aged 18 months to 5 years old.

About our private pre-school sessions

Our Twinkles group, for 18 months and over, is aimed towards our younger children and is an excellent start to your child's pre-school experiences, enabling toddlers to socialise and learn together.

Starting from approximately 2 and a half years until starting school, our Sparkles group offers the same structured play, focused and directed teaching activities and experiences as the Twinkles group but tailored to this age and stage of development. Through constant assessment in both groups, your child's learning and personal needs are met giving them an excellent head start to school. In our initial consultation with you, we will decide together which group most suits your child's needs.

We use the Early Years Foundation Stage guidance to plan an exciting and stimulating curriculum and to assess your child's development in an on-going way that informs us of their next steps in learning.

All of the six areas of learning are addressed in each session through carefully thought out teaching activities, free play opportunities and more structured, focused activities.

We have quality resources and equipment that are continually added to in order to cater for the learning and development of our Allstars Pre-school and Allstars Tuition children.

The cost for each session is £14.50 lasting 2.5 hours, 9:30am to 12 noon which includes a healthy snack with milk and unlimited fresh water is freely available to the children throughout the session.

A typical session would include the following:

  • Welcome everybody!

  • Free play from a range of carefully selected activities indoors and outdoors

  • Small group activities e.g. music and movement, letters and sounds, baking, gardening, arts and crafts, painting, number songs and rhymes, caring for small pets

  • Snack time

  • Story time and song time

  • Preparations for home time including collecting children's valuable creations to take home and choosing a book to take home!

In addition to a typical session, visits to places of interest and outings to everyday places will be part of our fun, safe and exciting curriculum.

We are passionate about providing the very best care and education for every child in our setting, in all areas of their development.

Having a devoted, well-qualified and experienced team consisting of an Early Years practitioner and fully qualified teacher enables us to facilitate an excellent level of provision.

We have a shared vision for our early years setting, one that holds onto the values of 'the child comes first and foremost' and which provides rich learning experiences to develop the whole child. This vision for excellence in Early Years education has developed over the 5 years of working together in Foundation Stage.

We have been very successful throughout our careers at building very positive relationships with parents and carers, enabling us to work together to provide the best outcome for all children. We have always believed that communication is vital to a successful partnership with parents and we are always ready to listen and respond to any comments or concerns, no matter how large or small.

Linda Douglass B Ed (Hons) QTS

Having achieved a Bachelor of Education degree and teaching primary children for over 15 years, I have gained a sound understanding of children's needs in all areas of care and development.

My 7 years in Foundation Stage and having close links with the pre-school gave me a passion for providing early years education. Through discussions with parents and carers, I became aware that there was a need for quality, early years' education with an emphasis on developing the whole child through child-centred, well planned provision. At the heart of this, of course, is the wellbeing of every child in our care.

I have been married to Mike for 28 years and we have 3 sons, Michael, 27, Ryan 23 and Tom aged 13.

Nikki Green, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education

For the last 11 years I have worked within a variety of Early Years settings including nurseries, pre- schools and as an Early Years practitioner within Foundation Stage in a school.

I have a passion for delivering the very best early years care and education to children of all ages. My work in this area gives me a huge amount of satisfaction and I have a deep interest in how children learn and develop.

I have been married to Scott for 17 years and we have two children, Jessica aged 15 and Ethan aged 10.
